2.3.5  StatusBar

The StatusBar is an information track appearing at the bottom in the program window, divided into 5 parts.

StatusBar fields are shown in Table 6 and illustrated in Figure 8:

No Field name Content
1 General Information content matching to program states
2 Shift key Mouse pointer state on pressing the Shift key
3 Control key Mouse pointer state on pressing the Control key
4 Left button Mouse pointer state on pressing the Left mouse button
5 Right button Mouse pointer state on pressing the Right mouse button

Table 6. StatusBar fields

Figure 8. StatusBar

The four right-hand fields communicate about what state the program get in on pressing the Shift and Control keys or pressing the Left and Right buttons.

The StatusBar in Figure 8 communicates that if the Shift or Control keys are pressed, then the program will get in the Zoom+ state or if the Left mouse button is pressed, then it will remain in Zoom state and by using the Right mouse button it will exit the Zoom state (Escape). If the mouse pointer stops for a while above any of these four fields, then a small window (tool tip) opens to communicate that information on what event is contained in that field.

The status bar may be switched off to avoid slowing down by it program running (due to refresh time regularly).

Program states and the general field is detailed in the section Program states.
